A fabulous antique Chinese jade and enameled silver statement ring. Wonderful, intricate handmade setting. There are many reproduction copies of this type of ring circulating, but this is the real thing, dating from the Qing Dynasty late 1800s. It is very rare to see a white jade cornucopia in this type of setting. It has also been potentially identified as a silk worm pupa which is equally rare. In Greek and Roman mythology, the cornucopia represented fruitfulness and wealth. It is in great condition with only minor surface wear commensurate with age. The ring is adjustable by very gently expanding the band. It is currently set at a size 7. The jade is very nice quality white mutton fat nephrite in fine condition with no chips or cracks. A unique and elegant piece.
I have been collecting and selling jade for many years. This is part of my collection which I am now sharing with other jade lovers. For more options, please see the jade section of my shop https://www.etsy.com/shop/elegantartifacts
