This is a very rare and beautiful antique raw diamond ring dating from the 1800s. The diamonds are untreated fancy champagne color and are just the way nature made them with their natural inclusions. The large center stone is bezel set and measures 8 x 13 mm. It is surrounded by 12 bead set diamonds. The setting tests as 14K gold but the band was added at a later date and is gold over sterling. While there is minor wear to the gold overlay on the band it does not detract from the beauty of the ring. The face of the ring measures just under 1 inch long and approximately .75 inch wide. During the Victorian era Queen Victoria heavily promoted raw diamonds from the South African mines and this ring is from that era although it likely was originally made as a small brooch with the band added at a later date. This lovely ring is a real find for antique jewelry collectors and could also make a totally unique and fabulous engagement ring. It is currently a US size 6.5 but it would be simple to add a different band to achieve any desired size. If you need a different size please contact me.
