This is an exquisitely carved gray nephrite jade bangle of ceremonial size. It measures 2.25 inches wide with an inside diameter of 70mm (about 2.75 inches). It weighs a very substantial 375.4 grams. It can, of course, be worn but was likely used for display. The bangle dates from the Qing Dynasty, 18th/19th century. The accompanying wooden scroll stand is of a later date. The jade has great translucence in spite of its weight and size. The color is a medium gray and the carving of dragons, other animals and foliate is very fine. Includes display stand.
I have been collecting and selling jade for many years. This is part of my collection which was verbally authenticated by the San Francisco Asian Art Museum in 1974. For more options, please see the jade section of my shop https://www.etsy.com/shop/elegantartifacts70mm
