A beautiful and rare bangle bracelet of carved Maw Sit Sit. This exotic gem originated in Myanmar (formerly Burma) near the village of Maw Sit Sit. It has been mined out for some time making it very desirable and difficult to find now. This Maw-sit-sit material is from the rough produced during the 1970's. The mine is depleted and there has not been any production of Maw-sit-sit in Burma/Myanmar or elsewhere in the world since. Maw-Sit-Sit is a local name for Jade Albite from upper Burma. Maw Sit Sit is considered a "cousin" of jade although it is much more rare than jade making it highly collectible. Natural color with beautiful
carving of animals and foliage. The interior is carved with incised lines. The inside diameter is 55 mm to fit a small wrist.
