Exquisite calligraphy defines this Hetian nephrite jade scholar's ring dating from the Qing Dynasty 1800s or earlier. it measures 1 inch wide and is a US size 11.5. Weight is 36.8 grams. The color is a very pale celadon which some would consider to be white jade. Rings such as this were often worn by scholars on the thumb to denote honor. This beautiful ring can also be worn as a pendant when strung on the thick neck cord which will be included on request. Being able to carve jade calligraphy with such skill is the mark of a master carver.
