It All Began with a Rooster....

My shop is curated with a designer's eye, but my obsession with antique jewelry began when I was a small child and my grandmother would take me to pawn shops and antique shows looking for hidden treasures. I was immediately hooked and from then on saved my pennies to buy beautiful things that had been overlooked. I literally grew up in the antiques business spending countless hours in the London antique shop owned by my grandfather and uncle. They had a wonderful but eccentric guard rooster who would fly squawking at anyone he didn't like. Fortunately, we were good friends. Eventually, design became my profession, first as an interior designer where I still look for unusual vintage items for my clients. Later, I expanded my interests, searching out vintage and antique treasures and combining them into original jewelry designs or beautiful pillows. I love transforming abandoned, neglected items into new designs and giving them a second life. To me, antiquing is the ultimate form of recycling. Taking magnificent items which were made with care and pride and incorporating them into contemporary life adds a richness and depth that is incomparable. My husband got me hooked on jade and together we have amassed a large collection of jades from the Neolithic Periods to the Qing Dynasty and beyond which we are now offering to discerning buyers.

I have sold my designs through my design and antique business for many years but when I wanted to reach a larger audience, I immediately thought of opening a shop at Etsy because of its reputation for artisan created goods. After several years as a successful seller on Etsy I decided to branch out with my own site, so here I am still doing what I love to do and hoping to draw some of you along with me in the discovery of beautiful things.
